Memphis Grizzlies
What's a team like the Memphis Grizzlies to do when they're forced to play in the same division as the dominant San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets? In short, they lose quite a bit. In 2006-07, Memphis finished with a 22-60 record, the worst in the National Basketball Association. Despite boasting the highly touted Spanish player Pau Gasol and Rudy Gay, a talented young basketball player out of the University of Connecticut, Memphis has never really improved since the franchise began as the woeful expansion-team Toronto Grizzlies. Fans hope that respected new coach Marc Iavaroni, who is taking his first shot at leading an NBA team in 2007, can bring the Memphis Grizzlies out of hibernation.
