For those times when not out exploring the rich Memphis blues scene or buying up Elvis memorabilia, the Memphis area has several golf courses for golf addicts who just can’t stay away from the links. Many of Memphis’ top courses are in the actual city, making it easy to sneak off to the green for a short session, or all day. Audubon Park Golf Course is a municipal course that has incredibly affordable green fees—less than $20. Though it might not be the most difficult course, this is a great place for beginners to practice. TPC at Southwind is a private Memphis golf course that hosts the PGA’s annual Fed Ex St. Jude Classic. This nationally ranked course is listed by Golf Digest as one of Tennessee’s top five courses. For an easier day of golf, try T.O. Fuller State Park Golf Course—it's a simple, 6,000 yard par-72 that is perfect for a leisurely day of golf.

Audubon Park Golf Course

One of the City of Memphis' municipal golf courses, Audubon is a simple, 6,347 yard, par-72 golf course that features lots of trees and several tight dogleg holes. Green fees are always less than $20.

Fox Meadows Golf Course

This Chic Adams design is another of the Memphis' municipal par-72 golf courses. This one measures 6,545, one of the longest courses in Memphis. Fox Meadows Golf Course is flat, however, so walking is not a problem. Once more, it's no more than $20 to play at this Memphis golf course.

Quail Ridge Golf Course

This 6,632 yard par-72 track is about five miles outside of downtown Memphis. A Golf Digest three-star golf course, Quail Ridge is known as an unusually difficult Memphis golf course. Quail Ridge Golf Course quite hilly for the region and the greens have a particularly nasty reputation for being slick and multi-tiered. It's a value Memphis golf course at $20-$35.

T.O. Fuller State Park Golf Course

This course has some unique history. Built on the T.O. Fuller National Park, where a prehistoric civilization was discovered while unearthing a swimming pool. As for the golf course, no divots have yet to yield any anthropological treasures. It's a simple 6,000 yard, par-72, with native tree life and water coming into play. Again, it will cost less than $20.
